There are top class Golf courses near Sant Feliu de Guixols

We must admit that we do not know very much about golf.

What we do know is that golf is a year-round sport in the Costa Brava. You should expect to pay more during high season (weekends all year round, public holidays and in some cases July and August). Spring and autumn are generally classed as mid-season and the rest of the year is low-season.

All golf clubs hire out the necessary equipment including full or half sets of clubs, trolleys and in some cases buggies.

To get you started, here are a few golf clubs within about 30 minutes of Sant Feliu. We have also provided links to their websites so that you can find out more. Have fun!

Club de Golf Costa Brava

One of the oldest courses in the area, opened in 1968 and designed by Hamilton Stutt & Co.

The first nine holes are very scenic and tricky with fairways lined with cork oaks and pines. The second nine holes are open and less tricky.

The 18th hole is directly in front of the “masia” style clubhouse.

It has an 18 hole red course and a driving range.

Club Golf d’Aro, Mas Nou

Designed by Ramon Espinosa, this is one of the original Costa Brava golf courses – at a mere 300 metres above sea level, each fairway has its own fabulous sea views.

The golf course is surrounded by pine trees, cork oaks and more than a thousand aged olive trees.

There are also two large artificial lakes, making this course a haven of peace.

It has two 18 hole courses, plus a nine hole pitch and put course.

PGA Catalunya Resort

This course is actually one of the best in Spain and Europe and regularly hosts professional events.

It is a beautiful and very challenging course.

You will be surrounded by fabulous trees and beautiful lakes.

“It’s a long course suitable for big hitters, though accuracy is also essential from the tee as the greens are surrounded by water. With its naturally undulating terrain, the fairways can seem quite narrow when you are driving off from the tee but they open up for the second shot before reaching greens which are wide but full of secrets.”
