Year round activities (mostly!) in Sant Feliu de Guixols

There are many things to do, see and experience in Sant Feliu de Guixols all year round!

In these pages we look at activities that are available for most of the year, that is, they are not so seasonal.

The markets in Sant Feliu de Guixols…

On Sundays there is a big market in Sant Feliu (marvellous!). The foodie parts take place (as they do during the week) in the Market Square and in the indoor market.

You get the outdoor fruit and vegetable market, the indoor market with its fish, meat and up-market comestibles and then, on the Passeig del Mar (the rectangular shaped promenade next to the sea) there is a flea market, including artisanal products such as cheese etc.

The down side is that there is a lot of traffic and the market traders take up a lot of parking spaces. If you are very early, it is easy. But if you come down at a normal time then it can be hard to find a space.

If you do not find a space along the Passeig, then go to the inland side of it where you will see an indoor car park on the left (it goes under the market square). Alternatively, there are car parks up past the Monastery and on the road to the left just past the Monastery – follow that road about 100 metres up and there is an empty piece of land where people park.

Then there is not much going on in the Market Square on a Monday after all of that hectic activity. By Tuesday the fruit and veg part of the market and the indoor market are back in the swing, with activity building up until the next Sunday extravaganza!

Sight-seeing is much nicer outside of the Summer season on the Costa Brava!

The biggest thing to do out of the main summer season is all of that sight seeing which is so taxing when it is too hot. There are so many places to visit that we can only scratch the surface here.
