First, start dining like a native of Sant Feliu de Guixols…
The most important things to know about restaurants are:
- Catalan lunch is probably from about 14.00 until 16.00 but there are French people here (who like lunch very early) and so many restaurants tend to start serving lunch at about 12.30.
- Sunday is the big day for family lunch. So if you want to go somewhere for lunch consider booking ahead.
- Because Sunday is the Big Lunch day, many restaurants close on Sunday afternoon and then do not open again until Tuesday.
- A “menu” or set menu tends to have three or four courses.
- Something like juice, soup, salad, veggies or pasta. Sometimes juice or salad is a pre course.
- Meat or fish and potatoes – grilled, baked or stewed.
- Dessert.
It will usually come with bread and house wine and tap water.
Enjoy!
