The Costa Brava is one of the best places in the world for fresh seafood – come and try it!
We love seafood and can’t wait to get to Sant Feliu to sample its delights when we come to stay at Maremar, Marona or Marblava..
We always seem to select it in restaurants, but we love to cook at home and, as long as you don’t overcook it and you eat it fresh, you can’t go wrong with the local seafood.
Here we show you some of the delights in store for you.
Gambes de Palamos
The gambes de Palamos are fantastic and need only a couple of minutes to cook. They are quite expensive but worth it. We do them with garlic, then the prawns, then a splash of vermouth and finally parsley. We tend to get the big ones if they are available.
Shellfish
The shellfish are simply fantastic.
Just stick in a pan with a little oil and garlic. Toss them in and woosh them about until all the shells (or at leas, most of them, have opened – but no longer! Throw a bit of parsely in and there you have it. Absolutely no salt as the sea water comes out of them and seasons naturally.
If you are lucky enough to be here in a month with an r in it and you are adventurous then the erizos (erreesus), spiny sea urchins are fantastic.
Squid, cuttlefish and octopus
