The waters around Sant Feliu de Guixols are ideal for water sports – clear, exciting, and with a dramatic coastline to boot!
Sailing
Six guests from the USA discovered this fantastic outfit, Costa Magic, and told us about it. They had the boat to themselves in early July for half a day (four hours) for €60 per head.
They sailed along the coast, visiting Calas (coves) and admiring the stunning coastline. Then they stopped for a swim and a snack.
We are sure that you could organise something custom-made for your group, given enough notice and forward planning – splendid!
A light snack and a drink was also provided.
Scuba diving and snorkelling
With a wet or dry suit, you can go out in any reasonable conditions.
There are lots of diving locations along the Costa Brava. Perhaps the most famous is the Illes Medes which is a Protected National Maritime Park.
There are many organisations offering diving and snorkeling trips for both beginners and experienced divers (you must have your proof of qualification and medical certificates with you). They also run courses, but please do plan these things well in advance before you arrive.
One that we have had contact with which is open all year round is Varadero Dive Centre in Sant Feliu de Guixols. It is situated opposite the Hotel Eden Rock in Sant Feliu.
They are multilingual and are happy to take groups out whatever the time of year so long as the weather conditions are safe and they have enough people. we have been told by locals that they are active all year round.
